Just Cuz

Henry: So where is Auntie Lynna?
Mama (holding back a laugh): Who is Auntie Lynna?
Henry: You know, the lady that is supposed to take care of the girl that is riding our scooter?
(For the record "the girl" was given a turn by the owner of the scooter.)

David: Right now I'm selling single blocks.  The cost is one coin per block.
Auntie Lynna: OK, will I get a discount if I buy more than one block?
David: Just give me however many coins you want and I will give you that many blocks.
Auntie Lynna: OK so I am not going to save money by buying more blocks?
David: I tell you what, you give me three coins and I will give you two blocks.

Hazel's middle name is Naomi, so Emma suggested that she name her baby doll Naomi.  However, Hazel pronounces it 'Omi.  She was playing with her baby and Ellie wanted a turn.
Ellie: Hazel, are you done with Tsunami?

Talks to Self

Mama (talking to herself): Wait, did I just spray stain treatment on that sweater and then throw it in the dryer?
Hazel (who loves to hang around and watch the laundry process): Of course you did!
Mama: Well then of course I'm crazy!
Hazel: Of course you are!

Out Dated

Ruth: Do you know what month it is?
Robyn: It's November.
Ruth:  Well, it's obvious that it's November.  But do you know which November it is?
Robyn: Nope.
Ruth: It's the twenty-tooth of November.

Glory to God Alone

Our God is a covenant-keeping God!  Yesterday, Joseph was baptized and Ruth and Emma made their public professions of faith.  My father got to pray for and introduce his granddaughters as new members in the church where we siblings all were raised.  He thanked the church for their multi-generational participation in the training of his family.  Most precious moment: our pastor knelt down in front of our girls to read their vows to them on eye-level.  I am awed and humbled by God's overwhelming faithfulness.  Eph. 2:8-9.

No! We not!

This morning Hazel was looking at the Frozen book (based on the Disney movie) and quietly singing to herself ...

(singing) Do you want to build a snowman?
(angry talking) No! We not!
(singing) Do you want to open the door?
(angry talking) No!  We not!
