Last night while we were spending some "special time" together
coloring, my oldest girl shared that she's been mad about her laundry
job. We talked some about it. This morning she said that she felt she
would enjoy it more if she had a chart to mark with stickers for each
step of the job. I offered to show her how to make one, but, as is
usually the case, she had free time before I was available and so she
did it all on her own. I found this on the back of the laundry room
door this afternoon. And fresh towels were in the bathroom tonight
when I took my shower.

The beauty here isn't about laundry, though. It's about self-knowledge
and independence and solving her own problems. I am so proud and so
thankful. It's like I'm standing on the sidelines watching God grow
her into an amazing young woman. These front row seats are more
priceless than any season tickets money could buy. ❤

(There are a total of 10 pictures. Click on the link at the bottom of the post to see the rest of them.)

I just went on the most unique date I've ever attended. My oldest son
created a date destination for me in his Minecraft world. He also
designed our outfits (skins) himself.

The date got off to a bit of a rough start when he accidentally
slapped me while trying to open the door and his dog took up the fight
and killed me. I respawned and we tried again. First he took me to his
restaurant complete with menu, waitstaff, and tables. We waited for
our food at the outside tables by the fountain. I had fish and pumpkin
pie; he had beef and cake.

We were going to take a little selfie outside the restaurant after
dinner, but it was nighttime and while we paused so that he could add
some extra lighting, I was attacked by a zombie and a skeleton.

I ran to the hotel while he killed the bad guys. We each had our own
room key and room. Mine was on the second floor, his was on the third.
Unfortunately, we were both affected by the "bed glitch" and
suffocated in(side) our beds. We respawned on the roof of the hotel.

All in all, I can honestly say, it was the most eventful date I've
ever experienced! And anyone who says that video games make kids
antisocial has never been on a date with my son! (Hubby is currently
on a date with our oldest daughter in a world she's created.) ❤
